Values & Community Engagement

The Muir Lab will be an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment for scientists and engineers from diverse technical, professional, and personal backgrounds. This vision is guided by four objectives:

  1. Focus on the scientific and professional development of students and researchers to become the next generation of engineering leaders

  2. Actively foster an inclusive and equitable research environment that welcomes, supports, and encourages diverse perspectives

  3. Lead and engage in science communication and outreach efforts to advance STEM locally and globally

  4. Strive to always learn and explore new ideas – new science, new skills, and new things about others
